THE CHILDREN’S PROGRAM OF SAN DIEGO HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE - meets the special needs of children and families faced with advanced or life-limiting illness. Services include pediatric home hospice care, palliative home health care, support for families whose unborn infant has been diagnosed with a potentially life-limiting condition or illness, and supportive services to children experiencing the serious illness of a family member, classmate or friend. In addition to care at home, family-centered inpatient care is also available at the San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care Inpatient Care Center.

BEREAVEMENT PROGRAM
- San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care services do not end with the death of the patient. The Center for Grief Care and Education at San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care offers a variety of opportunities for ongoing emotional support and education about grief, loss, and life adjustments following the death of a loved one. Bereavement support services are individualized and provided by professional counselors. Services include individual counseling, support groups, and grief and loss newsletters for adults and children. A Newly Bereaved Workshop for adults meets monthly to help those recently impacted by a loss. Caregiver groups may be available as well.
The Center for Grief Care and Education also provides counseling services to the community-at-large and workshops for professionals. For more information, contact The Center for Grief Care and Education at 619-278-6480.

INTEGRATIVE PALLIATIVE MEDICINE PROGRAM
- For patients in the SDHPC Inpatient Care Center, the Integrative Palliative Medicine Program offers therapies (as available) that may complement the traditional hospice care provided to the patient. The program may offer therapies such as acupuncture and Chinese medicine, aromatherapy, massage therapy, Reiki, music therapy, and harp therapy.

COMPREHENSIVE CARE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
(CCMP) - coordinates and advocates health care services for individuals living with an advanced illness. The goals of CCMP are to help clients, who are under the care of a physician, remain as independent as possible in their homes, and to facilitate access to community health care resources for the client and family members. Under CCMP, the HIV/AIDS Case Management Program focuses on the needs of adults and children affected by HIV or AIDS. For more information, please call 619-278-6400.
