Gallery 4311 Artists & Authors series to feature Author Tim Tosta
San Diego, Calif.- San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine is proud to host author Timothy Tosta at its Artists & Authors series, an exciting new element added to its Gallery 4311 [1] bi-monthly art receptions.
Tosta, a cancer survivor and long time hospice volunteer, wrote #DEATH tweet Book 01 and Book 02, thought-provoking books containing a series of tweet-sized insights of 140 characters and spaces which are actually about living life to the fullest.
Tosta will present an informal talk and sign books during the upcoming Artists & Authors program on September 11 at 3:00 p.m. at San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine Hillcrest campus located at 4311 Third Avenue. Receptions are free and open to the public. Copies of Tosta’s book will also be available for purchase, along with the exhibiting art, with 30% of the proceeds donated to San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine.
“These books are meant to be life-affirming,” Tosta says. “I’ve seen it with hospice patients over the years, and it was true for me when I got my diagnosis of terminal cancer: people at the end of life are dealing with a shared set of issues and concerns.”
Gallery 4311 consists of art juried by a volunteer committee every two months. Local artists exhibit an array of artistic mediums including acrylic, oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, photography and more. Each rotation is launched with a hosted wine and cheese reception. Receptions are open to the public and provide an opportunity for the community at large to meet the artists and view their work. Artists donate 30% of the proceeds from their Gallery 4311 art sales to San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine. All art receptions are held on select Sundays, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Gallery 4311 located on the organization’s Hillcrest campus located at 4311 Third Avenue, San Diego, 92103.
