San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine (SDHIPM) understands today's healthcare policy decisions will impact the future funding, availability and quality of hospice and palliative care.
We also understand healthcare policy discussions are often complex and many find it challenging to make time to follow, much less decipher, this dialogue.
However, with Medicare cuts and healthcare reform looming, we need to speak up about the importance of hospice services and access to hospice for all who need it.
To address these issues, SDHIPM has created an Advocacy Corner and Outreach List in order to:
-
Inform our staff, volunteers and our community about healthcare policies that affect hospice and palliative care services
-
Support legislative and advocacy efforts initiated by our local, state and federal partners
-
Take action by highlighting opportunities for people to participate in local, state and federal advocacy efforts
This Advocacy Corner will serve as one outlet for this communication but we need your support, input and energy to make a difference!
