RN, Primary Homecare - South Rios location  (Bilingual – Spanish required)
Full-Time; Days; 8:00am - 5:00pm
Provides skilled nursing to terminally-ill patients in accordance with the treatment and plan of care dictated by patient, family, physician and members of the interdisciplinary team. For more information and to apply, click here.

RN - Admissions
Full-Time; Days/Weekends/Holidays/Flexible; Various Shifts
Performs initial nursing intake assessment of potential San Diego Hospice patients to determine the clinical appropriateness of their acceptance for service and communicates findings to the Interdisciplinary Team in an accurate and timely manner.  For more information and to apply, click here.

RN - Triage / Team 7 Primary RN
Per Diem / PM's, Nights, Weekends, Flexible
The RN, Triage / Team 7 Primary RN, triages telephone calls from patients, family members, and caregivers to assess concerns utilizing the nursing process, instruct in patient care, provide advice and support, identify the need for skilled nursing, spiritual, or psychosocial visits.  Dispatches Extended Care Services on-call nurses, social workers, or spiritual counselors, if necessary, to implement appropriate interventions. Assistant Director, Palliative Care Psychiatry
Days/Nights/Weekends; Flexible; 8:00am - 5:00pm
Provides psychiatric patient care in the Inpatient Care Centers, serves as consultant to the Patient Care Services teams and is a faculty member of the teaching team.  This physician also supervises other mental health providers within San Diego Hospice and may undertake research projects.  For more information and to apply, click here.

Clinical Medical Director
Days; Flexible; 8:00am - 5:00pm
Provides patient care in the Inpatient Care Center, serves as consultant to the home care management team and provides physician care to home care patients, and is a faculty member of the teaching team.  For more information and to apply, click here.

We also offer career opportunities in various departments, including:

Admissions - This department is the initial compassionate contact with referral sources such as prospective patients, family members, physicians, and case managers. This department works closely with the Admission RN and Hospital Liaison with intake and referral call center.

The Center for Grief Care and Education: As part of an interdisciplinary team, staff members provide individual, family and group counseling to those in the community who have been impacted by a death.

Business Development: This department acts as the liaison to provide information about San Diego Hospice and our patients to physicians, hospitals, and long-term facilities throughout San Diego County.

Children's Services: This is an umbrella department that covers a range of specialty services and programs that support children and families impacted by a life-limiting illness.

Crisis Care in the home: Here, clinicians have the opportunity to provide a level of care that combines time for one-on-one patient interaction. Care is provided wherever the patient resides – whether in a private home or long-term care facility.

Extended Care Services (ECS): Staff includes evening and night nurses, social workers, and chaplains who support all of our patients throughout San Diego County who make visits for after-hour care wherever the patient calls home.

Home Care: This department provides interdisciplinary hospice care for patients and their families in San Diego County.

Inpatient Care Center: Staff work in our inpatient care center in Hillcrest and provide care for patients with the most acute care needs.

Pharmacy: This department includes pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The pharmacists play an active role on the interdisciplinary team consulting regarding therapeutic choices for the treatment of pain and other symptoms and educating team members and patients.

Triage: Triage RNs are responsible for making all scheduled visits, tuck-in visits, and urgent visits, as well as for fielding calls from patients and families on a variety of matters regarding care. Social Work: provides emotional support and community resources to patients and families receiving palliative care.

Spiritual Counseling: Our chaplains provide religious and/or spiritual support to patients and families receiving end-of-life care.
