Work with the leader – San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine.

We believe in recognizing staff for their work. We know that our employees go above and beyond for our patients and it takes the entire team to provide the best hospice and palliative care possible. That is why we place emphasis on recognizing employees. This includes:

Service pins: awarded to employees who have served 3, 5, 10, 15 and 20 years

Recognition through "Values in Action":
Here at San Diego Hospice, we appreciate individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty. As such, we recognize these individuals who exemplify our core values - Respect, Innovation, Trust and Excellence - in their work.

  • Values in Action e-cards:  This lets employees thank and recognize their fellow co-workers. Convenient, yet touching, these e-cards are sent to the employee and his/her manage to recognize respect, teamwork, innovation, trust, excellence or a general welcome or thank you.

Employee Wellness Program:  We believe in promoting and enhancing the overall well-being of SDHIPM staff. With this in mind, we have created a Well@Work program that encourages work/life balance.

Annual Health Fair: Held every spring to provide employees information, activities and resources on benefits, wellness and healthy habits.

Quarterly All-Staff Meetings, with a CEO presentation:We believe that transparency and communication is key to any organization. Once a quarter our employees meet to catch up on the latest organizational news and learn about goals and vision.

Chat with the CEO: These bi-monthly events epitomize our “open door” policy to a whole new level. President and CEO Kathleen Pacurar travels twice a month to San Diego Hospice facilities and shares a cup of coffee, or tea, with fellow employees, giving them an opportunity to ask her questions or just get to know each other better.
