Camp Erin San Diego

Camp Erin San Diego provides a fun and supportive environment for 80 bereaved children experiencing the death of a loved one. The camp gives children a chance to heal through recreational activities, age-appropriate counseling, and the opportunity to be with others who are going through a similar experience. Camp Erin was created by major league baseball player, Jamie Moyer and his wife, Karen. Camp Erin celebrates the memory of Erin Metcalf, a bright and compassionate young woman, whom the Moyers had met during her battle with liver cancer. In June of 2000, Erin died at the age of 17.

Proceeds from the tournament will also support other grief and bereavement programs managed by The Center for Grief Care and Education. These include:
• Grief Street: A Family Bereavement Program
• Counseling and therapy for adults, children, couples and families
• Professionally led bereavement support groups

San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine was established more than 34 years ago as the first hospice in the San Diego area and continues today to be a local, national and global leader in the field of palliative care.
